On Thursday December 11th 2014, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki IEEE Student Branch organized successfully a career orientation conference for Electrical Engineers, with the help of Professor Hatzopoulos and the sponsorship of IEEE Greece CASS/SSCS Chapter. The conference was attended by 90 students, who had the chance to meet professionals and get informed about job opportunities in companies like Corallia, OTE, Olympia Electronics and Helic.
At the beginning, on behalf of Career Services Office, Ms. Papakota informed students about the services provided by the Office and gave them useful guidelines and advice about how to write a Curriculum Vitae.
After that, Ms. Neofotistou presented the activities and programs of Corallia. Corallia is a renowned organization which aims to support Greek world-class innovation clusters and provide the right framework conditions to allow sciences, innovation and entrepreneurship to flourish again.
The conference continued with Mr. Ploskas who spoke on behalf of Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (OTE S.A.). OTE is the largest telecommunications provider in the Greek market, and, together with its subsidiaries, forms one of the leading telecom groups in Southeastern Europe.
Next, Mr.Marmaggelos presented Olympia Electronics, which is one of the oldest and largest Electrical and Electronic manufacturers in Greece. It is a dominant firm in emergency lighting and fire alarm manufacturing process, as well as electronic safety and security industry and it has been awarded for its innovative business activities many times.
The conference closed with Mr. Papadopoulos who presented the activities of Helic, Inc., a world leading provider of rapid electromagnetics and RF silicon synthesis and verification technologies. It is a provider of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software products and services, addressing the semiconductor market and facilitating the design of chips for wireless communications, broadband networking, PCs, tablets and other segments.
